Rickencaster “Black Tie” Custom

See hi-res detailed photos and description here.

This guitar was designed to be a “players guitar” for Cal Stamp. Materials were chosen to be stable and require low maintenance when taken on the road. It was designed to be light weight so to be enjoyable for longer shows, and comfortable to be played sitting down in a studio setting.

The electronics were selected to give a wide variety of sounds – chimey, but more aggressive than standard Tele – and function well in a live setting (i.e. intuitive, quiet).

Pinecaster

This build was inspired by the ambrosia maple top, with lots of large worm holes that just so happened to be placed where "F-holes" would usually be on a semi-hollow guitar. The body is reclaimed pine from The Globe grain elevator. The electronics are very interesting - they are active Greg Koch signature telecaster pickups by Fishman, and this was my first time using them. I really like the different voicings, and it sounds just like a tele should, twangy, but able to dig in a get plenty of grit. And NO NOISE! These pickups are erriely quiet.

Nalacaster

This guitar was built for my daughter, Nala, whose favorite color is purple. It is a 7/8-scale Tele Thinline body (basswood body and alder top),  has a purpleheart 24.75" neck, ebony fingerboard, and gold foil sides.
